The details of the meeting between the Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni and the APC Senate caucus have emerged.
Naija News reports that Buni met with the APC Senators led by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at his residence in Abuja on Thursday night.
A statement released by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, said the Yobe governor and the federal lawmakers discussed the issue of consensus arrangement regarding the National Working Committee (NWC) positions.
It added that governor Buni and the Senate APC caucus deliberated on ways to ensure that the convention is successful and free of crisis.
The statement, however, said that the APC Senators promised to support the successful conduct of the convention and also pledged their loyalty to the leadership of the party.
It added that the federal lawmakers also gave their support to all decisions taken by the party leadership to enhance unity and victory for the party.
In his remarks, Buni commended the caucus for supporting the party, assuring them that adequate measures have been taken for a hitch-free convention.
Governor Buni appreciated the Senators for responding to this invitation ahead of the party’s convention scheduled for Saturday.
In another development, the ruling has released its programme for the much-anticipated event which is less than 48-hours away.
The programme for the convention scheduled for March 26th was released by the APC media and publicity sub-committee of the convention.
