Napoli vice president Edoardo De Laurentiis has received death threats from an alleged Galatasaray supporter frustrated by the delay in finalising Victor Osimhen‘s permanent move.
Osimhen, who enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray last season, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances and clinching both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles, is eager to continue with the Istanbul giants.
Despite this, Napoli’s tough stance on transfer terms has thrown negotiations into chaos.
According to Football Italia, a Turkish journalist, Samet Çayır, shared screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation allegedly between De Laurentiis and a person claiming to be affiliated with the Turkish Mafia.
The message read: “Let Osimhen go or you are finished.” The sender also threatened De Laurentiis’ father, Napoli owner Aurelio, in an apparent attempt to force the club’s hand in the deal.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano added further detail to the deadlock, revealing that “Galatasaray reject Napoli’s new conditions for Victor Osimhen deal, talks will continue if conditions change again. Napoli asked for €40m now plus €35m to be paid by 2026, plus a sell-on clause. Galatasaray want to pay €35m by 2027 and refuses to include a sell-on clause.”
Despite Galatasaray’s willingness to meet Osimhen’s valuation, disagreements over payment structure and future profit-sharing have stalled progress.
Turkish analyst Yagiz Sabuncuoglu disclosed that Napoli are insisting on a 20% sell-on clause in addition to strict payment deadlines, while Matteo Moretto confirmed the Italian side wants the full €35 million balance paid before the end of 2026.
Meanwhile, Alfredo Pedullà reported that Napoli, the reigning Serie A champions, have set Osimhen’s final price at €75 million, demanding at least €50 million as an upfront fixed fee.
Galatasaray had proposed a €40 million upfront payment with the rest in staggered instalments, but Napoli rejected the offer, reportedly demanding €55 million immediately with the remaining €20 million to follow.
