Napoli have reportedly rejected a fresh €75 million offer from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen, despite the bid meeting the official release clause in the striker’s contract.
According to Nigerian journalist and transfer insider, Onyebuchi Onokala, popularly known as Buchi Laba, Napoli are stalling on the Turkish club’s proposal and instead pushing for a deal that would send Osimhen to Saudi Arabia, where Al Hilal are reportedly ready to pay the full clause upfront.

Osimhen, 26, had already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray after what many described as a fruitful loan spell. The Super Eagles star made his intentions clear, giving the green light to continue with the Turkish champions.
“Victor James Osimhen says YES to Galatasaray and wants to continue with the Turkish team,” Onokala stated.
However, despite the clarity from the player’s end, Napoli have remained unmoved. Their rejection of Galatasaray’s third formal offer, despite being in line with the release clause, has stirred frustration. Sources close to the situation suggest the club’s decision is less about sporting ambition and more about maximizing financial gain.
“Napoli for weeks have been pleading with Victor Osimhen to stay. Osimhen has made it very, very clear that he wants to leave,” Onokala added.
Club insiders believe Napoli’s refusal stems from a preference for a cash-heavy deal from Saudi Arabia, with Al Hilal reportedly willing to meet the full clause in a single payment, something Galatasaray are offering in structured installments.
Yet Osimhen is understood to have no interest in a move to the Middle East. His focus remains firmly on European football, and he has already communicated this to the Napoli hierarchy.
In a move that could heighten the tension, the striker has reportedly told the club that he won’t be returning for pre-season under new manager Antonio Conte, raising the stakes in an already delicate standoff.
Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio earlier confirmed Galatasaray as frontrunners for Osimhen’s signature, with personal terms reportedly finalized. However, Napoli’s insistence on an upfront payment has left the deal in uncertainty.
