Nationwide Strike: NLC Replies AGF, Says Court Order Not Perpetual Injunction

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has replied to the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), in relation to the court order restraining the organised labour from embarking on its proposed strike.

The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in a statement on Friday, told the AGF that a court restraining order can not be equated with a perpetual injunction.

Naija News recalls that the AGF had called on organised labour to respect the June 5, 2023 order of the Industrial Court.

The AGF claimed that there was a “pending interim injunctive order granted on June 5, 2023, restraining both the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria from embarking on any industrial action or strike pending the hearing and determination of the pending motion on notice.”
