English defender, Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed to a new long-term contract with Arsenal, marking a significant milestone in the 18-year-old’s rapid rise through the ranks.
Myles Lewis-Skelly whose existing deal runs until 2026, has been in negotiations with the Gunners in recent months.
According to the BBC, England starlet has now agreed to the framework of an extended agreement that will see him remain at the club well beyond his current terms. At the time of writing, the contract had not been officially signed.
Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakout season in 2023-2024, making 39 appearances in all competitions. Originally developed as a midfielder in Arsenal’s academy, he made his senior debut in September against Manchester City and has since impressed in an unfamiliar left-back role.
His standout performances earned him a historic call-up to the England senior team in March, where he made headlines by scoring in a 2-0 victory over Albania at Wembley. In doing so, he became the youngest player ever to score on their full debut for the Three Lions.
Recognised for his stellar campaign, Lewis-Skelly was recently nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award. He joins a shortlist that includes Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Arsenal teammate Ethan Nwaneri.
