Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta expressed his delight in seeing his former player, Alex Iwobi, excel at Fulham.
Since joining Fulham from Everton last summer, Alex Iwobi has made a significant impact, scoring five goals in 15 league appearances this season.
Arteta commended the Nigerian international for his unique talents, stating, “I always liked him a lot. He possesses tremendous talent and has a very special quality. He can adapt to different spaces and positions, and I’m genuinely happy to see him performing at this level.”
On another note, Arteta acknowledged his team’s need for defender Gabriel Magalhaes after their Premier League match against Fulham ended in a 1-1 draw.
Gabriel was absent from the match-day squad, recovering from a knee injury that had also ruled him out of Arsenal’s preceding 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
Other notable absences included Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
In his post-match press conference, when asked about Gabriel’s absence, Arteta responded, “Yes, we certainly miss him.”
However, he also praised the adaptability shown by his squad, saying, “I was really pleased with Jakub’s performance. We had to adjust our entire defensive setup, utilizing Jakub and Jurrien Timber in positions we hadn’t tried before. Thomas Partey also stepped in as a fullback, which was commendable.”
