Veteran Nigerian singer cum political activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has slammed ousted Gabonese President, Ali Bongo over the cry for help in a viral video.
Naija News reported that Bongo had been placed under house arrest by military coup leaders in the country, with one of his sons arrested for treason.
Giving reason for their action, the coup leaders said serious institutional, political, economic, and social crises were factors responsible for the coup that they tagged ‘necessary’ for the progress of the West African country.
The coup leaders also dissolved all the democratic institutions of the country, including the government, the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Constitutional Court.
However, in a viral video clip, Bongo called on his “friends” to “make noise” to the world about the coup following his house arrest by the coup leaders.
He said, “I’m sending a message to all friends that we have all over the world to tell them to make noise for (…) the people here who arrested me and my family.”
Taking to his Instagram page on Thursday, Charly Boy shared the viral video mocking Ali Bongo.
The political activist said Bongo impoverished citizens of Gabon and is currently calling his associates to rescue him.
Charly Boy prayed that Bongo would rot in jail for the wickedness he had shown the Gabonese adding that African leaders would also suffer a similar fate if the citizens are treated badly.
He wrote: “See dis one. Make noise? You’re on ur own fool. Dis na President Ali Bongo of Gabon. He impoverished the people Gabon, now his asking his fellow foreign thieves to come rescue him.
“For all the wickedness you showed ur people, may you rot in jail. African Leaders may dis happen to you too if you neglect ur people.”
