A man, Andrew Bankole has been apprehended by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly murdering his girlfriend at a hotel in Oke-Aro in Akure.
Oyediran Oyeyemi, the state Commissioner of Police while parading the 26-year-old before newsmen said he allegedly murdered the victim a few minutes after they entered the room.
After the incident, it was alleged that he jumped down from the stairs of the building and ran but was apprehended by some individuals who brought him back to the crime scene.
The girlfriend, who seemed to be about 24 was found in the pool of her own blood with various injuries on her neck and chest. A knife stained with blood was recovered from the scene.
She was confirmed dead at the hospital.
The state commissioner revealed that the suspect would appear before a court after proper investigation were carried out.
