Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has debunked claims suggesting he consulted a native doctor over his reelection bid, describing a circulating video as a deliberate act of misinformation by critics.
The governor’s reaction was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, who clarified that the footage in question was part of a comedy skit performed by content creators.
He added that the video was taken during a recent interactive meeting with young content creators from Anambra, where the governor encouraged the creative economy and entertainment industry.
“During the session, one of the content creators performed a skit, a common comic genre in Nigerian entertainment, to showcase their creative abilities,” Aburime said.
“It is disappointing that critics and political opponents would deliberately misrepresent the video to spread misinformation,” the statement continued.
Aburime reaffirmed Soludo’s commitment to youth empowerment and the creative industry, citing initiatives such as the recently launched Solution Fun City.
“Governor Soludo’s commitment to developing Anambra’s creative economy is evident in projects like the recently commissioned Solution Fun City. We urge the public to disregard the misinformation and verify information before sharing or amplifying content,” he stated.
The government reiterated that Soludo remains focused on delivering the Solution Agenda and urged the public to “look beyond the smear campaign” and support genuine efforts to transform the state.
