Today August 3rd 2024 marked the third day Nigerians have taken to the streets across the nation to protest the hunger and hardship ravaging the land.

Naija News reports that the protest which started on August 1st, continues in major cities across the world largest black nation.

On day two of the protest, clashes between security agents and protesters were recorded in Agbor Delta State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The protest continued on a peaceful note in Lagos State, Oyo State, Rivers State and a few other states.

Security operatives on Saturday dispersed protesters demonstrating in front of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike had on Wednesday secured a court order restricting the protesters to the stadium.

However, the security operatives irked by the disobedience of the protesters to enter the stadium fired teargas at them.

The protest against bad governance in Nigeria’s capital city, scheduled from August 1 to August 10, has significantly waned in momentum as the exercise enters its third day.

Naija News understands that as a strategy to manage the protest, the authorities of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) secured a court order that confined the demonstrators to the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
