Leny Yoro Reveals Why He Joined Manchester United

Manchester United signee, Leny Yoro has revealed that he decided to join the club instead of waiting for Real Madrid because the Premier League side showed him a clear plan on how he would develop his football career.

Initially, Leny Yoro was reportedly waiting on Real Madrid to make a formal offer to Lille for his signature, but the offer didn’t come. The Spanish giants were reportedly waiting for the contract of the 18-year-old defender to expire next summer before they move in.

On the other hand, reports claimed that the Frenchman wasn’t prepared to leave Lille except when Real Madrid came calling since they were reportedly interested in him.

But since no concrete offer was forthcoming from Real Madrid, Leny Yoro settled for Manchester United who paid £52 million upfront and £6.5 million in add-ons for his signature.

After signing his five-year contract with Manchester United, Leny Yoro noted that the concern United showed to his family convinced him to make the move.

“Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour”, the Frenchman told United’s official website.

“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.”

Leny Yoro is Manchester United’s second major signing this summer after the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The next transfer target for the club is Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte who they have agreed personal terms with.
