The Enugu State police command has sealed off the office of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The office of the party was sealed to maintain peace and order due to the leadership crisis.

It was gathered that 42 members of the State Executive Committee on Wednesday passed a vote of no confidence on the state chairman, Ben Nwoye.

Some of the party members that spoke with newsmen noted that Nwoye engaged in gross misconduct and disregarded the APC constitution.

The Deputy Chairman, Gilbert Chukwunta, in a statement, said Nwoye violated congress guidelines as spelt out by the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

Chukwunta addressed the press alongside the Secretary, Robert Eze; Women Leader, Oby Nwofor; Youth Leader, Joshua Mamah; Financial Secretary, Amaka Adonu, among others.

They condemned Nwoye’s actions including the unilateral inauguration of ward executives, ignoring those elected by the ward delegates.

The members said even the results of ward congresses of the party had yet to be ratified by the CECPC.

The party chieftains further stated that Nwoye’s leadership would polarize the APC in Enugu.
