Northern Elders Pick Bukola Saraki, Bala Mohammed As PDP Consensus Candidates
The Northern Elders Forum on Friday endorsed former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State as the northern consensus presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News reports that this was made known by NEF spokesperson, Ango Abdullahi, in Minna, Niger State capital.
Recall that Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Bala Mohammed, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen had criss-crossed the country hoping to pick a consensus candidate amongst themselves ahead of the PDP presidential primaries.
Speaking on Friday, Ango Abdullahi stated that the decision to select Saraki and Bala was arrived at after they scaled the criteria for selection.

However, Osinbajo who has also made his intention known, said on Friday that his experience in the last seven years had prepared him to become Nigeria’s next president.

2023: Jonathan Gives Condition To Join APC
Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has given a condition that would make him dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
According to Punch, Jonathan will only join the ruling party ahead of the 2023 general election if he is endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan in the past few months has stayed away from activities of the PDP, including the last national convention of the main opposition party.

Confusion As Tambuwal Rejects Northern PDP Consensus, Fingers Saraki For Spreading False Message
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has rejected the endorsement of former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Northern consensus candidates.
Recall that speaking in Minna, the capital of Niger State, after a meeting with former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, Northern Elders Forum spokesperson, Ango Abdullahi stated that the decision to select Saraki and Bala was arrived at after they scaled the criteria for selection.
According to him, these criteria included candidates assessment, zonal assessment, and PDP previous experiences.
Speaking through the Tambuwal Campaign Organization, TCO, Director of Mobilization, Nicholas Msheliza, Tambuwal accused Saraki of being behind the purported endorsement.

2023 Presidency: Consensus Is A Scam, Only Death Can Make Me Step Down – Wike
The Rivers State Governor and 2023 presidential aspirant, Nyesom Wike has revealed that only one thing which is death can make him step down from the presidential race.
He added on Friday that he doesn’t believe in the idea of a consensus candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential ticket that some aspirants are promoting because there is no sincerity in their plans.
He said if the PDP would adopt the consensus method, the idea should come from the party directly and not some persons trying to force their opinions on others.

2023: Adamu Garba Publicly Begs For Money To Buy APC Presidential Form
Presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has taken to social media to beg Nigerians for assistance to purchase the presidential form of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comes after the national publicity secretary of the party, Felix Morka, on Wednesday revealed that the nomination form would go for ₦70 million while expression of interest forms would go for ₦30 million.
Garba, who via his Twitter handle expressed shock over the announcement, is now soliciting for help from Nigerians to make donations, so he can purchase the form.
