At multiple polling units in the Kosofe area, the PDP accused unscrupulous individuals of casting ballots multiple times.
The PDP insists that unless Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) swiftly addresses these issues, the legitimacy of the entire exercise could be compromised.

Vote Counting Begins
Meanwhile, LASIEC officials have commenced vote counting in polling units where elections have been concluded.
For the Chairmanship election at polling unit 033/041: The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 87 votes, Labour Party (LP) 3, PDP- 0. During the Councilorship election for the same polling unit, the APC received 83 votes, LP 3, PDP 3, and YPP 0 votes. Additionally, 10 votes were declared void.
On the other hand, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns over increasing voter apathy and the growing trend of residents demanding financial inducements before casting their ballots in Saturday’s local government elections in Lagos State.
An agent of the party, Alli Olugbenga, who is stationed at Ward C in Kosofe Local Government Area, described the situation as disturbing, stating that despite efforts to mobilise voters, many residents insisted on being paid before they would vote.
“They want me to pay them before they come out and vote. It’s wrong. It’s their civic right. They should not sell their vote. We’ve been going from house to house, begging people to come out, but many say they won’t vote unless they are ‘settled’,” Olugbenga told The Punch.
According to him, at Polling Unit 028 in Ward C, where 106 voters were expected, only two had cast their ballots by mid-morning.
APC party agents in the area said they had been calling known voters since 8:00 a.m., hoping to increase participation.
