La Liga Backs Down, Registers Dani Olmo, Pau Victor As Barcelona Players

Dani Olmo and Pau Victor

Spanish La Liga has officially registered new FC Barcelona signings Dani Olmo and Pau Victor after a series of back-and-forths.

Recall that FC Barcelona received a significant boost as they were granted a precautionary measure allowing them to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor on Wednesday, January 8, by the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

About 24 hours later, Spanish La Liga who was among the football stakeholders in the country to criticize the development, carried out the registration of the new players as directed by the CSD.

Before now, both La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation had consistently denied Barcelona’s requests to register Olmo and Victor for several weeks.

However, the CSD’s recent involvement has shifted the situation, permitting the Catalan club to include both players in their roster for the upcoming fixtures.

This decision comes as excellent news for Barcelona, who were eager to leverage the talents of Olmo and Victor as they prepare for key matches ahead.

As it stands, both players are eligible to participate in the upcoming Spanish Super Cup final, where Barcelona will face either Real Madrid or Mallorca.

Note that the two players will be available for Barcelona for an initial period of three months, with the potential for that timeframe to extend until the end of the season if their registration case is ultimately upheld and deemed successful.

This development not only enhances Barcelona’s competitiveness but also adds excitement for fans as they look forward to watching Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in action in the coming days.
