The killers of the Commissioner for pension of Kogi State, Solomon Adebayo, have requested for 100 million ransom to release the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Pius Kolawole.
Kolawole was abducted on Saturday around the boundary of Kogi and Kwara States while the commissioner who was with him, was shot dead.
According to Daily Truth, the kidnappers called the secretary of the local government on Sunday as well as one of the family members of the chairman to demand the ransom.
The Kidnappers promised to reach out on Monday to continue with the terms of negotiation, but had not as of the time of filing this report.
A source further disclosed that the kidnappers had also contacted the Kogi State Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Mr. Taofik Isah, who doubled as the Chairman of Ijumu council area of the need to hasten the negotiation.
It was gathered that the family, council area, and ALGON had agreed that the ALGON Chairman should continue with the negotiation.
Recall that Adebayo was killed, while the driver is receiving treatment in an Egbe hospital for the wounds he sustained during the attack.
However, the kidnappers did not touch the four year-old son of deceased who was in the vehicle at the time of attack.
