Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed who convinced him to join Spanish La Liga side, Sevilla.
During his first interview with the club, Kelechi Iheanacho acknowledged the pivotal role the club’s sporting director, Victor Orta, played in convincing him to make the move.
Iheanacho praised Orta for closely monitoring his performance over an extended period, which influenced his decision to sign a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
“Victor is a great guy. He played a big role. He’s been watching me for a long time now, and he knows the striker I am,” the 27-year-old Nigeria international said.
“He’s been doing a great job for the football club as well That is why it’s not hard to do all this. So, yeah. So, Victor is a nice human being.”
Having become Sevilla’s fifth signing of the summer, Kelechi Iheanacho expressed his commitment to delivering his best for the club.
Emphasizing his dedication to the team’s success, the Nigerian forward highlighted his focus on collective achievements over personal goals. He stated that the team’s collective effort and commitment in every game will propel them to great success in the upcoming season.
“I don’t have personal goals. I may have a goal for myself, but the most important thing is the team itself, my teammates,” Iheanacho said.
“Together we can appear centre at things this season. We have to give one hundred percent in every game. “We have to give our best in every game, without complacency, we will be at the top of the table and go very far this season.”
