The member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada federal constituency of Kano State, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has decried alleged persistent attacks on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his constituency.
His accusation follows the most recent attack launched on some people in Tudun Wada, with many people said to have been injured.
Thugs reportedly attacked Tasarrufi General Enterprise, a factory in the area, on Thursday, August 28 and left the factory workers badly injured.
The Local Government Chairman of the area council was said to have gone to supervise the demolition of structures when the incident happened.
Speaking to newsmen, Doguwa insisted that the attack should be investigated and that nobody should be seen as being above the law.
Doguwa said, “What we have was a barbaric attack on our people and our party offices organised and perpetuated by the Chairman.
“One of the most hit in the Tudun Wada Local government is the APC Chairman in the area, Alhaji Suyudi Umar. They are always out for trouble under the guise of the ruling NNPP.”
The lawmaker recalled the crisis between him and the ruling NNPP in the state in the last general election when they accused him of allegedly committing murder.
He added, “Not until when courts of competent jurisdictions cleared me at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and Kano, respectively.
“The two judgements ultimately upheld the judgement and assigned payment of ₦25 million as cost against the Governor and Kano state government”.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Abdullahi Kiyawa, said the police have commenced an investigation into the matter.
He said, “There is a formal complaint against the ALGON chairperson.
“All the witnesses and the suspect have been invited.
“The orderly to the ALGON chairperson has also been recalled to the command to give an account of the matter”.
