Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos on Monday staged a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly, calling for the removal of the party’s state chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.
Naija News reports that the protesters, drawn from all 57 Local Council Development Areas, marched to the Assembly complex, wielding placards with inscriptions such as “Ojelabi Must Go” and “We Want Fresh Leadership.”
The demonstration, which started early in the day, attracted a heavy security presence. Police officers were deployed around the Assembly complex to maintain order and prevent any outbreak of violence as tensions rose among party members.
