Djordje Petrovic Leaves Chelsea for Bournemouth

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth have signed Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea on a five-year contract.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper arrives with a growing pedigree, having impressed on loan at Strasbourg during the 2024-2025 season.

Petrovic was instrumental in helping the French club finish seventh in Ligue 1 and secure a UEFA Conference League berth. His outstanding performances saw him crowned Strasbourg’s Player of the Season and earn a nomination for Ligue 1’s Goalkeeper of the Year.

President of Football Operations at Bournemouth, Tiago Pinto, said: “I’m really pleased to bring Djordje to the club. The opportunity to sign a player of his calibre in the market was one we had to take… Djordje has very impressive qualities, as well as a lot of experience for someone who is still young.”

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Petrovic said: “I’m really happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level… I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”

Petrovic becomes Bournemouth’s third major signing this summer, following the arrivals of Adrian Truffert from Rennes and Junior Kroupi, who was on loan at Lorient last season.
