Former Super Eagles of Nigeria star, John Utaka has reportedly applied for the vacant Flying Eagles coaching job.
John Utaka who is currently 42-year-old is coaching the Under-19 side of the French Ligue 1 club, Montpellier.
Before he retired from football and took on coaching, Utaka represented Nigeria in the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.
ScoreNigeria claimed that the former Portsmouth and Lens attacker is one of the coaches who have applied for the Flying Eagles coaching job which the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) advertised this week.
All interested applicants are expected to submit their application on or before August 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Samuel Chukwueze had one of his best outings in the 2024 pre-season when his club, AC Milan, beat Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan from Spanish La Liga side Villarreal last summer, scored the only goal in the pre-season game against Real Madrid as the Italian side grabbed a resounding 1-0 victory.
Note that Chukwueze was included in the starting lineup following an impressive performance against Manchester City, where he provided two assists in the victory.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international has helped Milan to secure two successive victories in the ongoing pre-season in the United States.
