The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has warned job seekers and the general public to be cautious of online scammers exploiting the eagerness of applicants, stressing that it does not charge any fees during its recruitment process.
The NAF, however, dismissed a widely circulated message on social media claiming it has commenced recruitment for its 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), describing it as false, misleading, and fraudulent.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 17, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, urged Nigerians to disregard the message, stating emphatically that no recruitment exercise is currently underway.
“The attention of the Nigerian Air Force has been drawn to fraudulent messages circulating online, falsely claiming that the NAF has commenced recruitment for the 2025/2026 BMTC and DSSC.
“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to state that no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing. The public is therefore advised to disregard these messages in their entirety,” the statement read.
“The NAF recruitment process is free, transparent, and strictly merit-based. We do not charge applicants at any stage of the process, nor do we engage third-party agents or middlemen,” Ejodame clarified.
The Air Force spokesperson further assured that any legitimate recruitment exercise would be formally announced via credible platforms, including national newspapers, the official NAF website, and the Force’s verified social media handles.
“We therefore urge members of the public to be wary of online scams and exercise extreme caution when coming across unofficial recruitment advertisements,” Ejodame stressed.
The NAF advised all interested candidates to stay informed through verified sources and report suspicious messages to the appropriate authorities.
