Collation of results has resumed at the Imo State Collation Center for the November 11 governorship elections.
Naija News recalls the collation was put on hold on Sunday morning by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer for the election, Professor Abayomi Fashina.
The announcement of results gets underway with the resumption of the collation centre.
Before the recess was announced, however, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma was leading in all the 27 local government areas of the state as announced at the collation centre in Owerri the state capital.
Three major candidates for the Imo State election are Governor Hope Uzodinma (All Progressives Congress – APC), Senator Samuel Anyanwu ( Peoples Democratic Party – PDP), and Senator Athan Achonu of the Labour Party.
From the results announced, Naija News reports that the candidate of the APC, Uzodinma, led his major opponents by a wide margin.
