‘I’m Happy Tinubu Is In Brazil, He Will See How Rough-headed His Policies Are’ – Adebayo

No Real Opposition In Nigeria, Politicians Are Only Moving From One Room To The Other In The Same House - Adebayo

The Social Democratic Party (SDP)’s 2023 presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu‘s presence in Brazil will expose him to the rough-headedness of his policies.

Naija News reports that Adebayo made this known while reacting to President Tinubu’s remark during his address to Nigerians in North America.

Tinubu had said that Nigeria and Brazil once shared similar economic starting points.

He said, ‎“Once upon a time, Nigeria and Brazil stood on the same level. Look at Brazil today, its technology, its food systems. We must ask ourselves: what do they have that we don’t?

‎‎“We have the brains, the energy, and the youth. We have everything we need. Now, we must act.”

However, Adebayo, while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television, on Wednesday, said Brazil has sound economic policies, which Nigeria lacks.

According to Adebayo, Tinubu’s economic policies are the direct opposite of those succeeding in Brazil.

He said, “Brazil is next to USA; so they have a big economy and the government and the private sector are participating. They have indigenous industries arising from agriculture, coffee, soya beans and all of that; then they have the high end with aeronautics, defence and all of that.

“The country that makes a lot of money from producing aircraft, like Embraer, and all those other companies, is making more money just producing plain soya beans. So the economic policy of the president is opposed to the one that succeeded in Brazil.

“I’m happy that he’s there, because by going there, he will see how rough-headed his own policies are.”
