Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta has confirmed that both Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke will be available for selection in the La Liga clash against Villarreal on Friday, August 23.
The talented duo joined the Rojiblancos on a free transfer during the summer transfer window. Since their arrival, they have yet to make their official debut for the former UEFA Europa League champions.
In the previous match against Las Palmas, Ejuke was listed on the bench but did not make an appearance on the field, while Iheanacho was not included in the matchday squad at all.
Pimienta spoke about the availability of the two players, saying, “Ejuke is doing very well. The other day he didn’t come in because of our decision considering the state of the team. Tomorrow, if necessary, he will help the team.”
The coach added, “For tomorrow we will have practically the entire squad except for Suso, who is injured. We want the team to be recognizable and to play as equals regardless of the opponent. Tomorrow we play at home.”
Meanwhile, Turkish club Caykur Rizespor revealed that they have mutually terminated the contract of Nigerian midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu.
The club officially announced the decision on their website, expressing gratitude for Azubuike’s contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavours.
Azubuike Okechukwu, who previously played for Istanbul Basaksehir, joined Rizespor last summer. He made 14 league appearances for the club before his exit.
Following his departure from Rizespor, the 27-year-old midfielder is expected to join Turkish First Division club, Erzurumspor.
