‘I Need Money To Be Happy, Marriage Is A Stupid Step’ – Singer Chike

Nigerian singer cum Nollywood actor, Chike Osebuka, has described marriage as a ‘stupid step’ and has no plans to get married at the moment.

Naija News reports that the 32-year-old artiste made this known during an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

Chike, popularly known for his romantic ballads, revealed that his happiness is tied to financial stability, emphasising that he does not consider marriage a priority.

He said, “In my personal opinion, in fact, I think it’s a stupid step to get married, that’s my opinion.

“For me to be happy, to be honest, I need a lot of money.

“This is not even canal, I won’t lie to you, I like money. I want money.”

Reflecting on his career journey, Chike said he never envisioned making a living from music until after his university education.

He stated, “I would say maybe right after my university, I knew music is what I’ll do for a living.

“I won’t say I knew before, to be honest, because I just used to sing and disturb everybody around me.”

The singer recounted moments of financial struggle in his early career, when he had to take acting jobs to make ends meet.

He added, “It was a tough part, I even had to start acting for like two years.”
