The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike on Wednesday declared that he is not working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Minister clarified that he is working for President Bola Tinubu and not the APC.
Speaking during an interview appearance on Channels TV, the former Rivers State Governor added that he owes nobody an apology for working for Tinubu both before and after the 2023 elections.
“I am not working for APC. I am working for Tinubu who have trust in me to help him deliver the renewed hope,” Wike said.
He added, “I owe nobody any apology at all. I was in PDP and I worked for Ahmed Bola Tinubu to become the President of Nigeria.”
PDP Can’t Sanction Me
Furthermore, Wike who reiterated that he remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dared the party to suspend him.
He also added that no one in the PDP can discipline him, rather, he should be the one to discipline those who violated the party’s constitution on rotation.
Wike spoke against the background of the crisis that rocked the PDP ahead of the 2023 presidential election in which he and some others popularly known as the G5 Governors worked against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The Minister went ahead to mock the PDP leadership, saying the person who wants to suspend him couldn’t produce a Governor or three Senators or Assembly members in his state while he gave the PDP the Governorship seat, State Assembly members as well as National Assembly members in Rivers State.
