After five years at Manchester United, Serbian professional footballer, Nemanja Matic has said he is exiting the club by the end of the ongoing campaign.
Naija News recalls that Matic joined the Red Devils from Chelsea on July 31, 2017.
He made his debut for United on August 8, 2017, against Real Madrid.
However, the 33-year-old unsung Man United hero has struggled to fit in the squad for Interim manager, Ralf Rangnick this season.
Naija News understands that the former Blues has just a year left on his deal with United but the player has informed the club of his intention to move on this summer.
Making his intention known in a post on Instagram, Matic wrote: “After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision.
“It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support.
“I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my teammates finish as strongly as possible.”
Matic has made 183 appearances for United since joining from Chelsea in the summer of 2017, scoring four goals, Naija News understands.
