A housewife has been arrested by the Ogun Police Command for planning to kidnap her husband.
The wife, identified as Memunat Salaudeen was apprehended by Ogun state security operatives on Monday, November 1st for planning alongside three others to abduct her husband.
A federal highway patrol team led by Inspector Sunday Imohiosen on stop and search duty apprehended the suspects at about 6:30 pm along Papa/Itori road.
The three men by the names Olayinka Lawal, Asungba Nura and Usman Oluwatoyin were on a motorcycle when they were stopped because their look was suspicious to the police.
The team searched them and found a cutlass and a newly acquired rope in their possession. They were consequently separated and questioned on what they planned to use the cutlass and rope for. The three of them gave conflicting statements.
They questioned them further and that was when they revealed their plan for the kidnap. They stated that a lady by the name Memunat Salaudeen gave them a sum of N8,000 to buy a cutlass and rope for the operation.
They also revealed that the woman is a nurse in their area at Balogun Tuntun Gas line Ifo. Saludeen ordered them to hide somewhere while she lure her husband and they will go ahead to kidnap him and ask for ransom.
The woman was also brought to where the men were being held and when she saw them she corroborated the story of the men claiming that the reason for her decision was because her husband has not been giving her any money so she decided to plan his abduction to get money from him.
