Unidentified gunmen have shot and murdered one Chief Thorpe Edijana, a hotelier based in Agbarho Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deceased was murdered by the gunmen after they invited him from his hotel to his house through a phone call.
The assailants reportedly shot him three times on his legs and rib after a brief conversation.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe In a telephone conversation confirmed the dire incident that led to the gruesome murder of the hotelier.
He said, “I don’t have the details but I know there’s something like that.”
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs Ese Edijana, and children.
Meanwhile, a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two sisters Sarah, 27 and Felicia David, 25 to five months in prison each for assaulting their neighbour.
The incident reportedly occurred in Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna State.
The prosecution told the court that the matter was reported by one Na Esther Francis of the same address on April 28 at the Sabon Tasha Police Station.
The suspects reportedly beat up the complainant during a misunderstanding tore her clothes and also destroyed her phone worth N98, 000.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 348, 365 and 327 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017. Read more
