Unknown gunmen have killed a lecturer with the University of Benin, Maxwell Eseosa Aimuen, in Benin City, Edo State.
It was gathered that Aimuen who is a lecturer in the department of public administration, was shot dead on Saturday, at his home entrance in Isihor while he was driving into his compound.
It was reported that the gunmen shot him severally before fleeing the scene. Aimuen was employed in the institution in 2015 as a Graduate Assistant.
The lecturer was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The spokesman of the University, Benedicta Ehanire, described the late Maxwell as hardworking and dedicated university staff.
She called on security agents to unravel those behind the killing.
