Some yet to be known gunmen have reportedly abducted one Olujala Adegboja of Olla town in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Reports obtained by Naija News on Sunday revealed that the victim was whisked away to an unknown location while in a van on his way home from the farm at about 7 pm.
Confirming the incident in a statement issued to newsmen earlier, the state command of the Nigeria Police Force said the anti-kidnapping and other tactical teams in conjunction with local hunters and vigilantes have acted swiftly to rescue victims as directed by the state police commissioner.
Spokesman of the Police Command, Okasanmi Ajayi who affirmed to the report said that the assailants stormed the Olla community shooting sporadically and ambushed the victim, said to be a brother of the monarch in the town.
Naija News learned that the kidnappers have demanded two hundred million Naira as a ransom for the release of the victim but later reduced it to ten million naira.
The victim is also a brother of a PDP chieftain Hon. Onijala, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The assailants are said to have attacked the victim with a machete before whisking him away to an unknown destination.
The kidnap operation, sources said lasted for about one hour in which sporadic gunshots were heard by the people of the community.
