Gov. Abiodun Makes New Appointment In Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of Nafiu Aigoro as the new head of Civil Service in the state.

Aigoro was the former Permanent Secretary of Hospitals Management Board before his new appointment, Naija News understands.

Aigoro’s appointment was confirmed in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday by Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to the State Government.

Talabi noted that the appointment takes effect from November 4.

Born 25th March 1963 Aigoro is a Consultant Orthopaedic/Trauma Surgeon with a special interest in Arthroscopypy and Arthroplasty, Naija News understands.

The new appointee also is a fellow of many professional bodies including, the Nigeria Medical Association, Nigeria Orthopaedic Association, International College of Surgeons and SICOT – International Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Traumatologists.

The statement confirmed further that Aigoro is a recipient of awards including, the best health worker award 2007 by the Ogun state government.

His appointment Naija News understands is coming a day after the immediate former head of civil service, Selimot Ottun, retired.

In another news, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has revealed why the North Central state “remains one of the safest states in the country”.

Naija News reports that the governor said he was able to achieve this feat due to the collaboration between his government and the people of the state.

Bello pointed out that his administration has sensitized the citizens on their role in securing their community and fishing out criminals amongst them.

The governor stated that the right policies initiated by his government have also contributed to the long-lasting peace in Kogi state, which he said was not the case seven years ago.
