The leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has sent a delegation to the residence of the lawmaker representing Kano Central senatorial district, Ibrahim Shekarau.
This is coming a few hours after the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje stormed the residence of Shekarau to forestall his decamping from the All Progressives Congress to NNPP.
The Presidency moments after summoned Ganduje and Shekarau to Abuja over the crisis in the Kano State chapter of the party.
It was gathered that the presidency on Friday night dispatch a jet from Abuja to Kano to convey Ganduje and Shekarau for an emergency meeting towards resolving the crisis.
However, Kwankwaso who had planned to welcome Shekarau into NNPP on Saturday heard of Ganduje’s move and called the Mundubawa Kano house of Shekarau, informing them he was coming.
At the time of filing this report, the aim of Kwankwaso’s agenda is not known, but sources said he wants to ascertain if Shekarau is still aboard the plan decamping to NNPP.
It was gathered that some members of NNPP, Alhassan Rurum and Kawu Sumaila are at a meeting with Shekarau, while they expect Kwankwaso’s arrival.
