Galatasaray vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu, has expressed frustration over Victor Osimhen’s indecision regarding a permanent move to the Turkish champions.
Kavukcu also warned Osimhen that the club may soon be forced to explore alternative options due to his indecision.
The Nigerian striker enjoyed a stellar 2024-2025 season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances to help Okan Buruk’s side clinch both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup titles.
Galatasaray have reportedly tabled a lucrative offer exceeding what most European clubs have proposed as they continue to push for his signature.
However, Osimhen, who is currently holidaying in Nigeria, has delayed making a final decision about his future, despite also turning down offers from the Saudi side Al-Hilal.
“He’s making us wait but time is running out,” Kavukcu said. “We’ve offered him figures higher than those proposed in Europe.”
Meanwhile, in England, Chelsea has officially pulled out of any potential deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
According to Sky Sports News, the Blues decided not to pursue the French international after assessing their current goalkeeping options.
Chelsea presently has four goalkeepers on their books, Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, and Mike Penders, and has decided that at least two of them will depart this summer.
One is expected to join Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg on loan, while another will be sold in a bid to balance the squad and provide game time elsewhere.
Although Maignan was offered to Chelsea earlier in the window, the club walked away from negotiations without making a formal bid. As it stands, the chances of manager Enzo Maresca getting a new goalkeeper this summer remain slim.
