Galatasaray are expected to rest Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen in their upcoming UEFA Europa League match against PAOK Salonica at RAMS PARK, Istanbul.
According to reports from Turkish news outlet Ajansspor, head coach Okan Buruk is likely to start Belgium international, Michy Batshuayi in place of Victor Osimhen as the lead striker, with Mauro Icardi potentially making a return from injury as a substitute.
Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, has made an impactful start with two assists in his first two Turkish Super Lig appearances for Galatasaray.
Note that Galatasaray’s Europa League clash with PAOK Salonica will kick off at 8 p.m. later today, September 25.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have turned their attention to Bayer Leverkusen and Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface after failing to secure a deal for Victor Osimhen during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Reports from TBR Football indicate that Chelsea have been scouting the 23-year-old forward, with plans to strengthen their attacking options in the January transfer window.
Despite having a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028, Boniface has attracted interest with his impressive performance, having scored four goals and provided one assist in six appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season. His current Transfermarkt valuation stands at €40 million.
