Former President of Somalia, Ali Mahdi Muhammad, is dead.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Information, Ismael Mukhtaar Omar, disclosed that Muhammad died in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Somalia government has declared three-days mourning for the former president and also appointed a National Funeral Committee.
Muhammad who died at age 82 was the fourth President of Somalia. He was in power from January 26, 1991, until January 1997.
The native of Mahaday District of the Middle Shabelle became a member of parliament in 1968.
The deceased was a businessman before he took over the country’s leadership after the military government was toppled.
