Fake Spiritualists Dupe Two Women Of N5.4m

Court Imprisons Abia School Proprietor For Defiling 13-Year-Old Niece

A self-acclaimed spiritualist, Abdul Salami has deceived two women into paying him the sum of N5.4 million to solve their problems in Ogun State.

The suspect had defrauded one Rukayat Ibrahim of N4,775,000 claiming that he had solutions to her daughter’s problem and also obtained the sum of N700,000 from one Oluwaseun Ibrahim, making it a total of N5.4 million.

According to the State police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the woman has written a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, saying, “she was defrauded of four million, seven hundred and seventy five thousand Naira by one Abdul Salami Yakub, who pretended to have spiritual solutions to her daughter’s problem.”

Acting on the petition, the commissioner of police ordered some officers to go after the suspect who confessed to his crime after he was apprehended.

During the investigation Ibrahim also came up with the complaint that the suspect had earlier duped her of seven hundred thousand Naira, which the suspect also confirmed.

In another news, a man identified as Alamu Aperin has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for murdering a man who was allegedly dating his girlfriend.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole informed newsmen on Thursday that the incident occurred on Apr 17.

The suspect reportedly accosted the victim, Joshua Alao and accused him of dating his girlfriend Omolaso. Read more
