Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has demonstrated his commitment to the club by signing a new long-term deal that extends his stay at the Etihad until 2034.

Erling Haaland joined Manchester City from Dortmund in 2022 and has made a remarkable impact, scoring 111 goals in 126 appearances. His previous contract, which included a release clause, was set to expire in 2027, but this new agreement signifies the club’s and player’s mutual dedication to a prosperous future together.

Under his new contract, Haaland will remain at City until he is 34, marking the longest contract in the Premier League, surpassing the nine-year deal signed by Cole Palmer with Chelsea last August.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Haaland stated, “I am really happy to have signed my new contract and look forward to spending even more time at this great club.

“Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters, and it’s the type of environment that helps bring out the best in everyone. I also want to thank [manager] Pep [Guardiola], his coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the club for their immense support over the past couple of years.”

City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, highlighted this contract as a testament to both Haaland’s talent and his affection for the club, stating that it reflects the club’s commitment to nurturing his abilities.

Haaland’s goal-scoring statistics are impressive. He averages almost a goal per game in both the Premier League (91 minutes per goal) and the Champions League (92 minutes per goal). In the FA Cup, his average is even better, scoring every 71 minutes. His debut season with City (2022-23) was particularly remarkable, with 52 goals across all competitions, achieving an average of one goal every 79 minutes and a shot conversion rate of 28.7%.

In the following season, he netted 38 goals, averaging a goal every 98 minutes, and this season, he has scored 22 goals with a rate of one every 118 minutes. Nonetheless, Haaland boasts the best minutes-to-goal ratio among all Premier League players with more than 5,000 minutes played (91 minutes per goal), ahead of former City striker Sergio Aguero (108).

Currently, Haaland ranks third in Manchester City’s top scorers in the Premier League with 79 goals, following Aguero (184) and Raheem Sterling (91). He also stands 61st on the all-time Premier League scoring list.
