EPL: West Ham Beat Table-topping Chelsea 3-2

West Ham incredibly denied Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea three points on Saturday in their English Premier League match at the London Stadium.

Naija News understands that both Chelsea and West Ham managers including some of their players had earlier predicted that their Saturday clash is gonna be tough.

It was indeed a tug of war as goals ran into the nets of both sides but West Ham won in the end.

Chelsea has only lost for the second time this season, a sensational second-half performance by West Ham gave the Moyes a glorious victory against the vising team.

Naija News understands that Thiago Silver had put a smile on the faces of the Blues when he netted a 28 minutes opener.

However, a 40th minute penalty won by Manuel Lazini brought West Ham back on the same level as Chelsea.

Chelsea’s attacking midfielder, Mason Mount got the Blues back in front again after he scored in the 44 minute of the game.

West Ham, however, got an equalizer with a 56 minute goal from Jarrod Bowen and finally had their winning goal in the 87 minutes, thanks to Arthur Masuaku.

“Truthfully, we didn’t play that well today, but we got the goals. Against a team that doesn’t concede many, that’s a great credit to the lads. I just said to Arthur, it was a great cross! It was very fortunate, let’s not kid ourselves on, but you need a bit of fortune sometimes and we had some brilliant individual performances,” said David Moyes while speaking on his side’s victory in a post-match interview.

“But overall I want the team to play much better, and I think they can. To beat Chelsea and say we’re not playing well enough, hopefully that helps us. We want to compete with whoever is in the top four, and I think we’re giving them a game. We’ll hang in, and see what we can do,” Moyes told BT Talk.
