Bulgarian former professional footballer, Dimitar Berbatov, has made early predictions ahead of this weekend’s English Premier League (EPL) opening fixtures.
Naija News reports that the 2023/2024 Premier League season starts today with Manchester City playing against Burnley tonight.
Ahead of the kickoff time, Berbatov, a former striker for Manchester United, predicted that Man City will defend their title and beat Burnley on Friday night.
Speaking during a chat on the top matches, he said: “Burnley vs Manchester City. I predict the Premier League champions to bounce back and beat Burnley to start off the season. Prediction: 0-2.”
On other matches, the former footballer said: “Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest. I’m backing Arsenal to beat Nottingham Forest. Prediction: 3-1.
“Chelsea vs Liverpool. Liverpool know they need to do better than last season, but I think Chelsea will be a surprise. Prediction: 2-1.
“Manchester United vs Wolves. I expect United to win this one. Prediction: 2-0.”
Naija News understands that Sunday’s heavyweight clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge is the game every fan and pundit is looking forward to.
However, both teams have what it takes to beat the other if they take advantage where necessary.
