A group of renowned Young Leaders under the auspices of the Emerging Political Leaders of Nigeria, South East Chapter has on Tuesday, February 24 honoured the Senator representing Imo North District (Okigwe Zone), Engr. Patrick C. Ndubueze with an Award captioned “The Legacy Senator of South East”
This came at a surprise Birthday Gathering organised by Staff, Friends and Well-Wishers of the Senator at his Office in the Senate Wing of National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The group said their decision to honour Engr. Ndubueze with the prestigious award was informed by the monumental achievements of the Senator within a very short period of 2 years in office, specifically mentioning the Federal University of Okigwel, Restoration of Electricity in Okigwe after 20 years of darkness, International Training for Young People in China and numerous Empowerment Programmes for Women and Youth groups.
“Time will fail us to fully state your achievements as this occasion is too brief for such, however, we shall find time to do justice to your accomplishment on a later date”. Amb. Jerry Onnanachiri, the Executive Secretary of the group, asserted.
The Award was presented in the presence of top ranking Senator as Dr. Orji Uzoh Kalu, Chief Gbenga Daniel, Sen. Victor Umeh and others.
Addressing a cross section of the Press after receiving the honour and goodwill messages from colleagues, the Legacy Senator, recounted some of his most remarkable projects, ascribing his successes to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and dedicating the Award to him.
“After thanking God Almighty, I must clearly state without fear of contraction that I could have come this far or achieved all these feats without the support of my leader and political mentor, His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma, who have stood solidly by me and given me total support to work for my People” Senator Ndubueze was quoted as saying.
