The organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests have declared that they would not leave the streets except President Bola Tinubu meets their demands.
The organizers stated that once the President meets their demands, the protest, which kicked off on Thursday, 1st August, would be called off immediately.
The Director of Mobilisation, Take It Back Movement, Damilare Adenola, made this known while speaking to journalists in Abuja.
He said the oppression in the country has been going on for too long, and the protest is part of efforts to ensure it does not continue.
He said, “The various court orders restricting protesters to particular locations are an aberration.
”Our presence here today is an announcement that we have been oppressed for too long.
“Today, we have risen. We saying to the president that unless President Bola Tinubu accede to our demands, we will remain on the streets. We want to see the president on the street. During the protest, he was on the street.”
One of the leaders of the Take It Back Movement, Ayoola Babalola, said protesters would not be intimidated by security operatives deployed around the premises of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, adding that it is an embarrassment to the nation.
