Super Eagles interim Assistant Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has said the choice of Coach Austin Eguavon to lead the Super Eagles by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was one of the best things to happen to the country’s football.
Fidelis Ilechukwu said Eguavon is very open and carries both the players and crew of the Super Eagles along.
Speaking with Official54footballx after the Super Eagles trashed Benin 3-0 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State; Ilechukwu said Eguavon’s tactics and technical approach were okay for the team.
“We will make sure we support Austin Eguavoen because he is very open. He is a coach who carries everybody along.
“He is a coach we love the tactics, the technical approach and to me Eguavon is one of the best things to happen to Nigeria now within that short period of time and we want to achieve with our little support,” he said.
The former head coach of the Rangers International Football Club, Enugu said his experience as a local coach of Rangers and his current experience as assistant coach of Super Eagles were much different.
“You know, the gap is too much. The gap is too much. Only the preparation of the training section, the organization, the preparation, they are not the same. You know, too different, you know, this is national team that everybody’s, you understand me, everybody’s, everybody can’t, you can’t even, don’t talk about the stars, the quality, you understand me, and the competition,” Ilechukwu added.
