The Department of States Services (DSS) has released Amoda Babatunde (Lady K) and Jamiu Oyetunji, two associates of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
Naija News reports that both associates were released on Friday to their lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, after spending 110 days in DSS detention.
Recall that the associates were part of the 13 suspects arrested during an invasion of Igboho’s house in Ibadan, Oyo state on July 1, 2021, by DSS operatives.
Those released earlier include Abdulateef Ofeyagbe, Tajudeen Erinoyen, Diakola Ademola, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Noah, Ayobami Donald, Adelabe Usman, Oluwapelumi Kunle, Raji Kazeem, Taiwo Opeyemi, and Bamidele Sunday.
On August 4, Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had granted bail to the 12 aides after spending over 60 days in detention.
After meeting their bail conditions, the secret police refused to release the aides alleging that they were helping their boss to stockpile arms to cause chaos in the country.
But after so many outcries, the DSS released 10 of the 12 aides of Igboho following their arrest and detention.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has identified the sponsors of the agitator for Yoruba Nation, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, as it unraveled how Igboho got monies from 43 bank accounts, across nine banks.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, who made this public on Friday, reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s disclosure that one of Igboho’s sponsors is a serving member of the National Assembly.
Malami, while addressing a press conference in Abuja, disclosed that a committee set up by the Federal Government found out the sponsors of Sunday Igboho and uncovered how millions were pumped into the secessionist’s bank accounts.
