Award winning writer and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has taken to the social media to educate his followers that drinking alcohol is not a sin.
The clergy stated in a post on his verified Twitter account on Saturday, January 16, that it is unscriptural for anyone to preach against alcohol intake.
Omokri in an attempt to back his claims quoted a portion of the Holy Bible, Psalm 104:15, highlighting that God created wine to gladden the hearts of men.
He wrote: “Drinking alcohol is not a sin. Drunkenness is a sin. It is unscriptural to preach against alcohol. Wine is drunk even in heaven (Matt 26:29). Wine is medicinal (1 Tim 5:23). In fact, Psalm 104:15 says God created wine to gladden the hearts of men.”
Naija News understands that Omokri’s claim gladdens the heart of some of his followers but then some were unsupportive of the reference, noting that God could be referring to non-alcoholic drink when he mentioned wine as highlighted in the scripture.
