Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Nigerian-born English striker, Dominic Solanke, from Bournemouth.
The London-based club paid Bournemouth around £65 million to complete the signing of Dominic Solanke. Spurs made an initial £55 million payment, and they are expected to pay £10 million in potential add-ons for the 26-year-old forward.
Solanke has committed to a contract that extends until 2030, meaning he is expected to remain at Spurs for at least six seasons.
The one-cap England international is Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrival of Yang Min-hyuk, Lucas Bergvall, and Archie Gray.
This move comes as Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou seeks to bolster the team’s attacking prowess, a priority that arose after England captain Harry Kane England captain Harry Kane‘s departure to Bayern Munich last summer.
Recall that Dominic Solanke joined Bournemouth from Liverpool in 2019 for a transfer fee worth £19 million. Before he departed from Anfield, the two clubs signed an agreement that earned Liverpool 20 percent of Solanke’s transfer fee paid by Spurs.
Solanke’s best run in his career was during the 2023-2024 season, in which he scored 21 goals in 42 games in all competitions.
He might be available for Tottenham Hotspur when they take on Bayern Munich in a pre-season friendly later tonight (17:30 BST), August 10, 2024. Spurs’ first Premier League game is against Leicester City at King Power Stadium on August 19.
