Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again remembered his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Naija News reports that the singer paid the tribute on Tuesday in a brief message on 𝕏.
He wrote: “Ifeanyi David Adedeji Adeleke RIP LEGEND !!”
Naija News recalls that Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, after he drowned in a swimming pool incident at the family’s Banana Island home in Lagos.
His death occurred just a few days after he marked his third birthday on October 20.
After the incident, the police in Lagos confirmed that an autopsy was done, which showed drowning as the cause of death.
Eight domestic workers were taken in for questioning.
While six of them were later freed, two were kept back for further investigations.
Davido stayed away from the public for some time following the tragedy but later returned and dropped a new album titled Timeless in 2023.
He had earlier said he left out a tribute to Ifeanyi on the album because he wanted to focus on keeping the mood of the project cheerful.
In October 2023, exactly a year after the boy’s passing, Davido remembered him again by sharing a dove emoji on social media.
The singer and his wife Chioma have since welcomed twins, who were born in the United States in 2023.
