Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced plans to formally join the Accord Party, revealing he will be in Osun State to collect his membership card.
The singer made the disclosure on Tuesday via his verified X account, stating that he would visit Osogbo to pick up his party membership card at Imole House.
“I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY 😇 Cc @AAdeleke_01”
Davido’s declaration has since sparked widespread public attention, given his celebrity status and his family’s strong political ties in Osun State, where his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, currently serves as governor.
The Accord Party describes itself as a political platform committed to unity, progress, and constitutional integrity, with a focus on delivering credible political agendas aimed at deepening democracy and transforming lives across Nigeria.
According to the party, its core values include equality, solidarity, gender inclusion, visionary leadership, and the promotion of free, fair, and inclusive elections, while strongly opposing electoral violence and vote buying.
Accord also says it prioritises justice, equity, and fairness, positioning itself as a movement driven by Nigerians from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to national unity and democratic growth.
Davido’s planned visit to Osun to formally receive his membership card has further fueled conversations about the growing intersection between entertainment, influence, and political participation in Nigeria.
