The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori, stepped in officially as Acting National Chairman on Monday and is currently presiding over his first official meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC).
Naija News reports that Dalori took over the leadership capacity of the ruling party following the resignation of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
Dalori assumed leadership at the crucial NWC meeting held at the APC National Secretariat, located on Blantyre Street, Abuja.
The Monday session, which began earlier in the day, is expected to address recent internal shifts and plot the party’s way forward amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Among those present at the meeting are the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, and other senior members of the ruling party’s administrative hierarchy.
Meanwhile, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun pushing to fill the vacancy created by Ganduje’s resignation.
Speaking to Daily Trust, sources from the CPC bloc disclosed that the faction has begun agitation for the chairmanship in the name of fairness and justice.
It was reported that the North Central APC Forum endorsed Senator Tanko Al-Makura, a former Nasarawa State governor and the only CPC governor from 2011 to 2019, to succeed Ganduje as national chairman.
